True Charity Gathering to Pinedale, WY.

Join us for a practical and inspiring session that explores how churches and organizations can move beyond relief-oriented charity to approaches that foster dignity, ownership, and long-term flourishing. Discover how effective programs make people experiencing poverty the protagonists of their own stories rather than passive recipients of aid.Through real-world examples, we’ll compare traditional models—such as food pantries and Christmas giveaways—with more empowering alternatives like food co-ops and Christmas markets. You’ll learn why these approaches work, see how organizations are successfully implementing them, and leave with practical ideas you can adapt in your own community.Models include Food Co-ops, Earn-it Projects, Christmas Markets, Work Shuttles, Award for Progress, Childcare Co-ops, Discounted Provider Networks, Mentorship Programs, and more.
